Role of the Job

An international market leader in the design and development of Control and Indicating Fire equipment and sensory devices is looking for a Test & Verification Engineer to join our growing R&D team in Rochester, Kent.

The individual should be self-motivated, creative, and proactive to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies, and lab environments.

Responsibilities:

  1. To determine and implement test strategies for new and existing products
  2. Liaising with the hardware and software development team for testability implementation
  3. Creating Test Schedules, Test Plans, Test Cases & Reports using Practi-Test tool
  4. Creation of Test Support Equipment
  5. Executing Tests for Hardware Verification & Software Regression
  6. Documenting Test Results and creation of Final Reports
  7. Regulatory European and International Compliance support

Key Skills/Experience:

  1. HND level or above in Electronics or other relevant discipline
  2. Experience in electronic circuit fault finding and repairs
  3. Understanding of test methodologies and automation frameworks
  4. Understanding of circuit schematic designs and general circuit layouts
  5. Familiar with lab/bench equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, meters, and signal generators)
  6. Experience with Labview and/or Test-stand
  7. Experience in the use of Automation Testing Tools with strong scripting skills, either in the use of industry-leading Functional & Performance Test Automation tools and/or, the use of custom tooling developed using Java, Python, Shell scripting etc.
  8. Support role for product regulatory compliance test houses

Nice to have:

  1. Programming experience: C, C++, OO programming, Visual Basic, or other
  2. Understanding of EMC
  3. Understanding or Experience in Fire Control panels and relevant EN standards
