We are looking for a Principal Mobile Engineer with experience building iOS applications to lead development on a new iOS app we’re building. You will be the first mobile engineer, so besides building a great app, you’ll also be responsible for setting engineering practices and ensuring a high-quality bar as other people join the team.
Candidates should be familiar with iOS development best practices and have a proven track record of shipping apps to the app store. They should understand that building the right product requires more than just excellent code. We want open-minded engineers who have a steady focus on delivering the right solution for our users. When in doubt, the answer is to build it and try it. You will work with cross functional teams in delivering great products for users.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of leading the development of a new iOS app.
- Establish development guidelines using modern best practices (Swift UI).
- Participate in the definition of key scenarios, use cases, and end-user experiences.
- Design, implement and refine chosen solutions in close partnership with product management, design, and partner teams.
- Identify hard problems, evaluate the pros/cons of practical solutions, and drive decision making.
- Become part of a talented team that values diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds and be a role model for an open, honest, and inclusive approach to solving problems.
- Mentor and develop engineers across all levels through sharing and learning.
- Lead technical projects and model the culture of the team.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in designing, architecting, and driving the development of mobile applications from start to finish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building applications on top of large language models (LLMs).
- Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Proven track record of customer-focused innovation.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
