ClearCOGS works with frontline restaurant data to predict optimal daily prep levels to improve efficiency, save money, and prevent waste. Through the combination of modern data management, machine learning, and statistical tools, our predictive forecasting system can help operators lower their food waste, while also decreasing their risk of stocking out.

What You'll Do:

1. Collaborate with the Head of Product to create a strategic product roadmap that outlines future development, including feature releases, enhancements, and major milestones.
2. Ensure the technical roadmap is communicated, understood, and implemented by the engineering and developer staff.
3. Contribute directly to the codebase, spending approximately 50% of your time working on key development tasks, solving complex coding challenges, and leading by example in maintaining high coding standards and practices.
4. Contribute to technical engineering designs, resource management, and implementations.
5. Encourage creativity within the team, explore new technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for product innovation, drive experimentation, and champion continuous improvement to stay ahead of market demands and drive business growth.

What You'll Need:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field.
2. 7+ years of software development experience building enterprise SaaS and cloud-based solutions.
3. Must live in the Chicagoland area and be willing and able to commute to the ClearCOGS office at the Merchandise Mart 2-3 times a week.
4. Proven experience leading engineering teams.
5. High proficiency in Python, JavaScript, React, and serverless environments.
6. Demonstrated success in implementing the technical roadmap, including the development, delivery, and maintenance of large-scale and high-performance platforms.
7. Highly proficient with all layers of the development stack.
8. Experience managing a hybrid development team, setting goals, removing technical blockers, and being an influential leader.
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
10. Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
11. A passion for restaurant technology and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Bonus:

1. Experience working at a startup or early-stage company.
2. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
3. Understanding and insights into restaurant operations and their needs.
4. Restaurant experience.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Salary

$90,000 - $150,000 per year
