LHH is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our clients team. This role involves the development, administration, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various operations networks, historian servers, HMIs, and web services. The ideal candidate will also handle network monitoring, performance analysis, standards development, and internal customer support. Coordination with plants, internal customers, and contractors is essential to achieve these goals.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide programming, design, and troubleshooting support for new and existing network systems, ensuring optimal performance of network infrastructure, firewalls, services, data networks, HMIs, historian servers, data reliability, and PLC operations.
  • Assist and support other Automation Engineers in troubleshooting and programming PLCs, with a focus on Rockwell Contrologix, Compact Logix, and Wonderware operator stations and historians.
  • Act as the primary contact for network and computer equipment failures related to operations networks and computer systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Wonderware Operator Station systems, including InTouch, System Platform, InTouch Anywhere, and Historian.
  • Support the maintenance, improvement, and troubleshooting of process data storage, associated data client users, plant networks, and backups.
  • Develop, update, and maintain system documentation, including standards, configurations, network diagrams, and address tables.
  • Assist in developing new controls and cloud infrastructure for advanced process controls.
  • Perform and maintain backups of all critical data, systems, and programs.
  • Configure and deploy new control workstations to sites as required.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize control systems, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, productivity, efficiency, reliability, and quality.
  • Generate, review, and approve project control programs and functional control specifications.
  • Direct and coordinate internal and external resources assigned to projects.
  • Commission electrical and automation networking systems, ensuring scope fulfillment and complete functionality and documentation.
  • Interface with equipment and system integration vendors, expediting documentation and deliveries.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or an Associates degree in Engineering/Computer Science with applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT/OT, network, electrical, instrumentation, configuration, and implementation, preferably in a heavy/production industry.
  • CCST and CAP certifications are highly valued.
  • Preferred certifications include Network, Security, Microsoft, and Cisco.
  • Proficiency with process control instrumentation, network protocols, web services, Windows, Cisco, Checkpoint, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with various man-machine interface programs, particularly Aveva Intouch (formerly Wonderware), RSlogix programming and software, Kepware, Windows 7/10/server/datacenter, VMWare/VSphere, and Checkpoint.
  • Knowledge of traditional programming languages such as Python, R, C, C++, and Java is a bonus.
  • Strong problem resolution abilities and detail-oriented with the ability to use root cause analysis for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel up to 20-50%, including overnight stays and extended assignments during critical construction and start-up periods.
  • Availability for periodic off-hours support.
Pay Details: $105,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
