Tickets.com is looking for aSenior Manager, Software Engineering passionate about building engaging products for our fans.
The Opportunity: The Manager of Software will provide technical leadership and manage the day-to-day activities of a software development team. Contribute to product strategy, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, meet the requirements, and with an high level of quality. Evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes, scheduled projects, resources and monitors project timelines.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage design & implementation of projects and products, establishing and communicating priorities.
- Research and remain current with relevant technology stacks and best practices.
- Help identify and communicate obstacles or potential issues as projects progress.
- Set example for team in taking ownership/responsibility for accurate and on-time project delivery.
- Provide training for direct reports to meet personal and organizational goals. Meet consistently with staff to discuss performance, development opportunities, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Provide leadership and direction as it related to software development projects.
- Manage project scope within all assigned software development projects.
- Ensure all assigned software development projects are completed on time, meet the documented requirements, review code and provide feedback and best practices to ensure high quality products.
- Develop and encourage open lines of communication to maintain and promote positive employee relations.
- Promote employee engagement; recognize employee participation, successes and ideas.
- Develop and promote a blameless and constructive team culture
- Participate in software development planning, design & architecture meetings
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) is required
- A minimum of 4-6 years of managing software engineers/teams.
- A minimum of six to eight years as a software engineer
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other frontend technologies (ReactJS, Angular, NX)
- Hands on experience with a deep understanding of relevant server containers and cloud technologies, for example, Node, GCP, AWS, etc
- Hands on experience with a deep understanding of object oriented and multithreaded or asynchronous programming methodologies required
- Experience with REST API implementations / frameworks, knowledge for XML & JSON a plus
- Ability to interface with all levels of employees
- Specifically, to work cooperatively with software engineers, system administrators, product managers and other stakeholders
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision and in a team environment
- Must have a willingness and patience to teach others
- Must be articulate and communicate effectively, both in written and oral formats, with a specific ability to author and communicate technical designs and documentation
- Must practice regular & continued self-education
- Exercise troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
