About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Fraud and Abuse Prevention team. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, analyze trends, and develop comprehensive solutions to combat fraud and abuse.
- Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable systems that effectively detect and prevent fraudulent activities while minimizing friction for legitimate users.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to the development of comprehensive documentation and best practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address production issues and ensure platform stability.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats in the fraud and abuse prevention landscape.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, Go, Python, or Kotlin.
- Extensive experience with web services (REST or SOAP) and database technologies (SQL).
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and best practices (TDD).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and abuse pattern analysis.
- Familiarity with modern architectural frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in fraud detection.
