Job Description:

Talent Groups is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with extensive MySQL expertise to join our team. This fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned professional skilled in managing high-performance transactional databases for multi-tenant SaaS applications, with a focus on operational excellence and evolving database architecture.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience as a Database Engineer
• Proven experience provisioning MySQL in clustered and non-clustered configurations
• Strong proficiency in MySQL management, replication, and storage engine optimization
• Expertise in MySQL best practices and performance tuning
• Skilled in writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Experience designing and tuning high-performance transactional databases for SaaS
• Familiarity with monitoring tools for proactive database performance management
• Strong attention to detail, process documentation, and repeatable process design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with other database systems, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Oracle

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automation tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of Azure security and compliance features
