Our group, Machine Learning and Optimization (MLO) at Microsoft Research Redmond, works on fundamental and practical aspects of data-driven optimization. Examples include scaling huge optimization problems via ML, leveraging ML predictions for real-time control, and using Large Language Models (LLMs) for algorithm design and interactive decision-making (e.g., for supply chain management and cloud resource allocation). Responsibilities
