The Manager of Sales & Pricing is the internal technology leader who has strong business acumen and will oversee and drive the design, architecture, development, and ongoing support of Sales & Pricing solutions at Builders First Source. The ideal candidate will have an understanding and experience in the following:


  • Sales and Pricing Implementation Background - Skilled background in implementation of pricing and promotion technology in B2B environment. Experience in design, development and Maintenance of pricing systems, technology tools and solutions related to sales and pricing. This role is critical in optimizing revenue and profitability generation and ensuring that the sales and pricing teams have the right technical tools to be effective in their roles.
  • Business Acumen - Understanding of the business strategy and developing and implementing sales & pricing tools and applications that will support these company goals.
  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of sales and pricing tools with other relevant systems (e.g., S/4 Hana, SAP Vistex and other applications) to create a unified and efficient technology ecosystem.
  • Data Analysis: Leverage data analytics to derive insights into customer behavior, market trends, and pricing strategies. Use these insights to make informed decisions. Pro-actively looks at the impact of historic data on future outcomes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of sales and pricing technologies, CRM systems, and data analytics tools. Experience and understanding of .Net, Python, Genero.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and manages IT professionals and/or consultants as relevant. Generally, works with smaller teams on low to medium complexity projects, or subsets of higher complexity projects.
  • Leads areas of a project from requirements to execution.
  • Follows appropriate agile and/or other development principles to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Understands where service gaps can occur within work of team and helps implement plans to close service delivery gaps.
  • Manages resources, including allocation of current resources into organizational priorities, developing resource plans and roadmaps for future software engineering needs.
  • Understands business needs, system functionalities and processes.
  • Ensures communication of standards (e.g., coding standards and review).
  • Solves complex and escalated aspects of a project as needed.
  • Reviews design documentation and may perform coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and threat modeling throughout the development process.
  • Stays current on industry trends, implements, and monitors new technologies, industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintains long-term relationships with vendors and other third-party resources to ensure high quality services are delivered consistently.
  • Collaborates with multi-functional teams to hold technical discussions and solve immediate problems.
  • Provides input to leadership team on development priorities, resources allocation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: supervises assigned team members (in-person and remote); talent selection and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management, including conducting performance reviews; recognizing team members; addressing and resolve concerns timely, escalate for help when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Information Technology and/or relevant programming experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience required, 10+ preferred, in managing groups, projects, and strategic planning.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience of overseeing configuration, development and delivery of large-scale sales & Pricing solutions.
  • Proficiency in driving data insights to assist business.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies and protocols, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in integrating with other applications and data sources, such as RESTful APIs, message queues, and middleware solutions such as Mulesoft or Apigee. Experience integrating with SAP S/4Hana and BTP.
  • Experience in .Net, Python and/or Genero Studio.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Subject matter expert in implementation of sales and pricing tools including integration with ERP, CRM solutions, automation and reporting through data driven insight. Experience in Integration with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Integration Technologies: A deep understanding of how different systems communicate and the ability to design and implement integration solutions. Proficiency in various integration technologies and protocols, including RESTful APIs, message queues and middleware solutions.
  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Strong data mapping and transformation skills are essential to ensure data consistency and accuracy during integrations. This includes the ability to map data fields between systems, apply data transformations, and handle data validation and reconciliation.
  • Evaluates Problems: Evaluates and analyzes different types of information objectively to identify appropriate solutions; writes fluently, establishing the key facts clearly and interprets numerical data effectively.
  • Technical Communication/ Presentation: Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
  • Adjusting and Driving Change: Takes a positive approach to tackling work and embraces change; invites feedback relating to performance and deals constructively with criticism. Identifies the need for and drives change when required to achieve objectives.
  • Focuses on Customers: Understands and anticipates customer needs and takes action to provide high-quality products and services to exceed expectations.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company’s active bonus policy for the respective year.
