Job Description:

Hydrafacial is hiring a Sr Manager, DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of our infrastructure and apps hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as leading our DevOps team. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic DevOps Manager. Building and maintaining a solid, scalable, and dependable cloud-based ecosystem that enables our development and operational teams to swiftly create high-quality software products will be your responsibility. Additionally, you will be in charge of putting best practices into action, advancing automation, and encouraging teamwork.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  1. Team Leadership:
    1. Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their professional growth.
    2. Set clear goals, assign responsibilities, and regularly evaluate team performance to ensure efficient delivery of projects and initiatives.
  2. AWS Infrastructure Management:
    1. Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure architecture, adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
    2. Optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability, taking advantage of AWS services and features.
  3. Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
    1. Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployments, testing, and monitoring.
    2. Implement deployment strategies that facilitate seamless rollouts and minimize downtime.
  4. Automation and Orchestration:
    1. Drive the automation of manual processes to improve operational efficiency.
    2. Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  5. Monitoring and Incident Management:
    1. Define and implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
    2. Lead incident response and resolution efforts, minimizing the impact on services and customers.
  6. Security and Compliance:
    1. Collaborate with the security team to enforce security best practices and compliance requirements within the AWS environment.
    2. Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure infrastructure.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product, and operations teams, to align DevOps efforts with organizational goals.
    2. Communicate technical concepts and progress to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  8. Research and Innovation:
    1. Stay up to date with AWS technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve and innovate the DevOps processes.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Manager, Director, or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its various services.
  • Experience with CloudWatch, Datadog, OKTA, SIEM, Splunk, WAF.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • In-depth knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance frameworks in AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a cloud-based environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

(Base Salary Pay Range: $150,000 - $190,000)

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of BeautyHealth’s total rewards package for our employees.
