Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join us in Boston. Join our data engineering team in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data warehousing, data pipeline, and data integration solutions for business analytics, reports, and dashboards. You will help with continuous improvement of ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service solutions for our business users and stakeholders. You will work closely with a senior mentor to gain technical knowledge and experience in your field, and cooperate with a broader international team both locally and globally.
You will help apply data management and analysis techniques to quantify the health and sustainability of open source software communities. You will have regular contact with AL/ML engineers and other data scientists gaining important insights into how Red Hat fosters its open source communities to grow its business. And you'll collaborate with open source community builders to provide timely reports of upstream activities to Red Hat stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with team members and stakeholders to turn business problems into analytical projects and solutions
- Translate large volumes of raw, unstructured data into efficiently stored and easily digestible formats
- Write complex, highly-optimized queries across large datasets; be involved in SQL query tuning
- Enable automated data pipelines for operational reporting and analytical capabilities for internal business customers
- Network with other talented interns in an inclusive and diverse workplace where you can be yourself and thrive
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge of logical, physical, relational, and dimensional data modeling concepts
- Some experience with data warehousing and building data integration pipelines
- Basic knowledge and willingness to use Python, Git or similar programming language
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) visualization tools like Tableau
- Passion, curiosity, and desire to create new things and examine how things work internally
- Strong organizational and logistical skills
- Willingness to learn and proactively work as a part of a wider team
The salary range for this position is $96,450.00 - $154,210.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
