Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking, energetic Site Reliability Engineer to join their team. This client serves the ecommerce needs of leading and growing grocery retailers with millions of shoppers located throughout the East Coast and Midwest. The client strives to enable retailers to be number one in all markets they operate in by leading IT staff, vendors, and third-party providers to use enabling IT technology, delivering innovative and simple business processes and systems, and achieving excellence in the end-user (shopper) experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Applications, Engineering, Platform, Operations, and Cloud teams to ensure smooth software delivery and premier service.
• Drive software engineering best practices into operational spaces through leadership and example.
• Lead and manage a 24/7 engineering organization with a focus on enabling automation.
• Demonstrate a lifelong learning approach, fostering diversity of thought in management.
• Learn and apply eCommerce, fulfillment operations, and PDL business processes and their interdependencies.
• Deliver high-quality results on time in a dynamic environment.
• Provide troubleshooting support, analyzing complex issues in applications, databases, networks, and operating systems across distributed, large-scale customer-facing systems.
• Manage system configuration through automation tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt.
• Write clear, concise, and consumable documentation for team processes and procedures.
• Support DevOps culture, tools, and processes for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Collaborate effectively across functional areas to achieve results.
• Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional team interactions and coordination.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in eCommerce business systems or supply chain, warehouse management, transportation.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• 5+ years of experience with Scrum Agile methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver maintainable, understandable, and diagnosable solutions.
• Proven ability to write clear and consumable documentation.
• Track record of building and managing high-performance teams.
• Extensive experience leading customer-facing systems in a high-uptime, 24/7 environment.
• Expertise in analyzing complex issues in applications, databases, networks, and operating systems across distributed systems.
• Experience with system configuration management using automation tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt.
• Advanced proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Java, and bash.
• Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and culture.
• High-level understanding of development methodologies and software lifecycle phases.
• Proven experience in working collaboratively across functional areas to deliver results.
• Ability to effectively interact with Technology and Business Partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with various levels of management.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-centered environment.
Primary Skills:
