Chemical Engineer, River Birch Renewable Energy Solutions

River Birch Renewable Solutions is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes within our renewable energy projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives in a rapidly evolving industry, with the potential to grow into overseeing the facility’s chemical processing operations. The scope of work could involve systems supporting projects and facilities totaling up to $50 million, making this an exciting and influential position within a leading renewable energy company.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Process Design & Development: Design and implement chemical processes to enhance the efficiency and output of renewable energy systems.
2. Chemical Reaction Optimization: Develop and optimize chemical reactions, ensuring processes meet environmental and performance standards.
3. Process Monitoring & Control: Oversee the monitoring and control of chemical systems to ensure smooth operation and compliance with safety protocols.
4. Material Analysis: Conduct chemical analyses to select the best materials and compounds for maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing waste.
5. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve chemical process issues to maintain optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
6. Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all chemical processes meet local, state, and federal environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
7. Cost Estimation & Control: Provide cost estimates for chemical processes and manage budgets to ensure resource efficiency.
8. Innovation & R&D: Stay informed on the latest advancements in chemical engineering and apply new technologies to improve energy production processes.
9. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, and other teams to integrate chemical processes into larger project frameworks.
10. Facility Operations Transition: Assist in preparing the facility for chemical process operation, including testing and process monitoring strategies.
Requirements:
· Must have bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, with experience in process optimization and chemical system design.
· Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
· Expertise in handling large-scale industrial chemical processes.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
