2 days in the office - 3 days remote. (this could be swapped at any point)
This position of Engr III Spec-Ntwk Equipment is responsible for small cell, macro cell, and/or 5G equipment engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in ordering equipment, managing equipment schedules, vendor management, and overall project management.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate and coordinate with multiple Network teams, including RF Design, Real Estate, Transport, Construction, Network Assurance, and System Performance, to ensure required technology upgrades are implemented properly. Deployment schedules and priorities are communicated with vendors and all involved engineering groups so that timelines are met.
• Strong Project Management and Communication skills with the ability to work closely with Team members.
• Equipment engineering designs are determined and deployed in accordance with Telecommunication Directives and industry standards. Engineering plans cover cell hardware, transmission equipment, power equipment, batteries, cables, floor space planning, HVAC, and miscellaneous hardware.
• Manage all purchasing and asset management activities using Telecommunication platforms and supplemental tracking so that financial metrics are met.
• Vendor resource management and budget planning are essential to ensure network growth/technology needs are met on time. Work with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure their products and services meet Telecommunication' requirements at best cost.
• Monitor compliance with all Telecommunication & industry standards and practices. Ensure that Inspection and verifications are performed for all installs, and that all quality standards are met
• Monitor all equipment expenditures. Prepare purchase orders and ensure vendor payment.

• Targeted Years of Experience: 5-7 years
• High level knowledge of 5G network architecture and equipment.
• Previous experience managing large scale projects that interface between multiple teams.
• Experience in vendor management, equipment ordering, and forecasting.
• Experience in reading, understanding, and commenting on construction drawings.
• Experience in 4G network architecture and CRAN architecture.
• Experience driving troubleshooting efforts.
• Defining results and managing teams to deliver on the defined results.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to work well both independently and in diverse teams.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Defined and developed reporting methods.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with a group of individuals in the industry with varying technical positions
• Understanding of IP assignments and the OSI model protocols
• Experience managing teams
