Network Engineer

Job Description

ServicePoint is seeking a Network Engineer for a Direct Hire position that is 100% on site in Chicago IL.

Position overview:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures, particularly using Cisco technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of network security, monitoring tools, and remote access solutions. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise network. This is a full-time position located in downtown Chicago, IL and is 100% on site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement scalable network solutions using Cisco Nexus and Catalyst series switches.
2. Configure and manage Cisco routers for both enterprise and carrier-class environments.
3. Monitor network performance using various tools, troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal functionality.
4. Manage DNS and DHCP services, ensuring accurate IP address allocation and name resolution.
5. Configure Cisco firewall software to protect network assets and enforce security policies.
6. Implement and maintain remote access solutions, ensuring secure connectivity for remote users.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with existing IT systems.
8. Document network configurations, policies, and procedures, providing clear communication to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
2. CCNP certification is a MUST.
3. Proficient with Cisco Nexus platforms (5k, 7k) and Catalyst 6500 series switches.
4. Strong knowledge of enterprise and carrier-class Cisco routers.
5. In-depth understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols.
6. Experience with DNS/DHCP management.
7. Familiarity with Cisco firewall configuration and management.
8. Knowledge of network monitoring tools and security best practices.
9. Experience implementing remote access solutions (VPN, Dial-Up) and wireless networking.

Location:

Downtown, Chicago (In the Loop off Washington Street)

Working Hours:

8:30 am – 5:00 pm CST
On site 100% of the time

Interview Process:

1. 1st phase interview with TA Team.
2. 2nd phase on site interview with client and End Client.
