Our client is seeking a Full-Time Systems Engineer to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Arlington, VA-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage application administration, including User Role provisioning, in line with security protocols and organizational best practices.
  • Identify and address process gaps by collaborating with business teams, gathering requirements, and translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications for enhancements or new developments.
  • Support unit, regression, and user acceptance testing, ensuring thorough documentation of test results.
  • Take ownership of communication and collaboration between business teams and vendors, providing end-to-end application support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach by going beyond assigned responsibilities, continuously innovating to ensure best-in-class processes across applications, with an understanding of industry-related processes for ship management and ship owning.
  • Participate in master data governance, ensuring alignment of master data across related applications.
  • Monitor and manage integrations across assigned applications, overseeing the integration of systems and data from vessel systems to corporate IT systems.
  • Triage and resolve integration issues as they arise, and support business teams with production issues to ensure system uptime.
  • Liaise with vendors on application updates, patches, and enhancements, ensuring compliance with organizational patching policies.
  • Develop and maintain application-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead or contribute to the design and development of complex software applications, providing technical insights to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and system outages.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment, managing business and technology relationships with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit exceptional time management, prioritization skills, and resilience under pressure, adapting to a constantly changing environment.
  • Maintain strong security and confidentiality practices for systems handling sensitive data.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application architectures, configurations, and processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of IT application experience, preferably in the maritime industry, with strong technical knowledge of tools and technologies supporting vessel and crew activities.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience supporting SaaS applications and cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with experience supporting multiple applications.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Solid understanding of various operating systems and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across functions.
  • Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design, with hands-on experience managing simultaneous projects.
