Oracle Payments team works with various business units in Oracle to bring new consumer payment offerings to market across the many industries Oracle serves. As a member of the Oracle Payments Product Development team, you will be contributing to the engineering efforts using a variety of technologies to deliver amazing product features that align with our strategic vision and deliver an exceptional payments experience for our customers.

The Role

We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience.

This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud-centric applications from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. We are looking for a Senior Principal Engineer with distributed systems experience to join the Oracle Payments organization. You are technically strong and get a lot done – you’ve built cloud-based architecture stacks and services from scratch that are highly available, scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and tackle. You can balance speed with iteration and incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements.

The growth of the business is driving us to improve the ability of our systems to scale out and handle traffic patterns that are several orders of magnitude greater than what we can support today. Responsibilities

1. Design and build cloud-centric applications.
2. Contribute to engineering efforts using various technologies.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver payment solutions.

Qualifications

1. 12+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment.
2. Hands-on experience building and operating highly-available, high-traffic web services.
3. Experience developing customer-facing architectures and RESTful web services.
4. Development experience in Java, C++, C#, and/or .NET as well as scripting languages.
5. Deep understanding of object-oriented design and SDK development, specifically within a cloud environment.
6. Experience working with other cloud teams and accommodating requirements from those teams.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers.
2. PCI DSS, or similar compliance and auditing experience.
3. Experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS engineering.
4. Expertise in applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques to develop security solutions.
5. Experience in Fusion Tech Stack (JDeveloper, OJET, ADF), OJET Web components, Helidon/Spring boot, JQuery, Python, node.js, Spark, GIT Source Control, NOSQL (Oracle/MongoDB).
