Engineer with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills capable of interfacing verbally and in writing with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Prime Contractor.
- Provide software engineering subject matter expertise for a ground based, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) radar.
- Manage contractor software and firmware development, system/subsystem test requirements, regression testing, debugging efforts, performance verification, requirements traceability and documentation development.
- Develop and review software requirements and operational concepts, system interfaces, and schedule and resource estimates.
- Provide development estimates for scheduling, Implement document builds, perform unit testing, and support testing and deployment of software.
- Support Software and Modeling and Simulation IPTs, design Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Working Groups, Design Reviews, and Code Reviews, to ensure system/subsystem designs meets requirements.
- Evaluate and prioritize software/firmware trouble report resolutions to incorporate into new version releases based on criticality level or functionality requirements.
- Interface with a multi-disciplinary product development team to support design, system integration, and fielding.
- Develop and present technical briefings and reports to Senior Leadership.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Required Experience:
- Master's degree (STEM) and 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
- Knowledge of phased array radar theory, function, and design
- Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices, Agile methodologies, and Scaled Agile Framework
- Ability to self-manage and initiate within team structure
- Ability to decompose complex problems to actionable elements
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries
- Ability presenting complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Secret Clearance or higher required
