Senior Mechanical Engineer
Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with in-depth knowledge of the AF Sustainability Program/Requirements to include facility sustainability design and construction knowledge management, assisting in reviews, development, update, and coordination of UFCs/FCs, UFGSs, DAFIs/AFIs, IFS's, AFPs, AFHs, DAFIs, DAFMANs, playbooks, program guidance/directives, policies, promotion and implementation, and Task Order design and construction guidance. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with building codes, DoD criteria, and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on sustainability in design and construction.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and oversee the development of technical specifications, design, and construction documents.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and DoD criteria governing sustainable design and construction.
- Provide expert guidance on sustainability program documentation and federal reporting requirements, including Annual Energy Management and Resilience Report (AEMRR) support.
- Serve as a coordinator for support contractors responsible for the entire scope of services.
- Oversee the development of documents supporting the Sustainability Program, including third-party certification support and federal sustainability reporting.
- Apply building codes and DoD criteria to ensure projects meet sustainable design and construction standards.
- Provide advice, expertise, and assistance to Government personnel in the areas of facility criteria and guide specifications, various technical submittal reviews, recommended resolutions for construction and/or engineering quality issues, assistance with new technology evaluations, assist with infrastructure surveys and inspections, and help develop transfer efforts into guidance and other special studies.
- Provide support for facility project programming documents including scope verification, refinement, cost estimate reviews, editing/drafting revised documents.
- Travel will be required to the various Air Force bases (CONUS & OCONUS).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience overseeing the development of sustainability program documents, technical specifications, design & construction documents, and application of building codes and DoD criteria governing sustainable design and construction.
- Accredited Associate's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field; P.E. license preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in sustainability reviews, federal sustainability reporting, annual real property reporting support, Annual Energy Management and Resilience Report (AEMRR) support and third-party certification support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale mechanical engineering projects with a focus on sustainability.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
