Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Resident Engineer to join their dynamic team in NYC.This is a long-term opportunity with significant growth potential within one of the premier engineering firms in the area.The Resident Engineer will oversee street tree planting projects across the five boroughs, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety protocols.Responsibilities:Receive site location emails from the Project Manager (PM)Meet the Superintendent at the job site by 7 AMObserve contractors on site and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulationsCoordinate with the PM to ensure adequate staffing levelCollaborate with the Parks Department and contractors to facilitate project progressUtilize specification books to understand project requirements and ensure complianceMaintain a safe work environment, ensuring contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Record and track measurements for pay items, such as tree planting and excavation, to facilitate contractor paymentsRequirements:1+ year of experience in civil engineering, landscape architecture, or constructionBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or environmental engineering/scienceAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsPersonal vehicle for transportationAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience in daily field reporting and construction oversight tasksNice-to-Have Skills:Civil EngineeringConstruction OversightInspectionLocation:Work on Parks Department jobs throughout the five boroughs (likely tied to one borough)—must have own car.Schedule: Working hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PMAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
