AIR is seeking a Clinical Quality Measure Developer to join AIR's Learning, Translation, and Quality Measurement Program within the Health Division . We work to advance equitable, high-quality, affordable, patient-centered care through rigorous research, evaluation, and technical assistance that focuses on what matters most to patients, families, clinicians, and the broader healthcare community.

We have a strong focus on quality measurement to ensure patients receive safe, equitable care. We also translate research evidence to promote understanding and adoption of best practices by patients, families, caregivers, physicians, nurses, insurers, health systems leaders, and policymakers.

Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations . This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities


The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Contribute to the design, development and testing of electronic clinical quality measures using Clinical Quality Language (CQL), Quality Data Model (QDM) and Fast Healthcare Interoperable Resources (FHIR).
  • Contribute to defining user requirements, designing measure test plans, and testing strategies for digital quality measurement.
  • Contribute to quality measure development research teams.
  • Contribute to meetings with project teams and clients.
  • Represent quality measure development research teams in areas of expertise on calls with measure stewards and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare concise, well-written technical reports and manuscripts describing research findings for technical and general audiences.
  • Provide strategic and technical expertise related to digital quality health and clinical informatics.
  • Mentor junior staff, sharing approaches to solving concrete problems.
  • Clearly communicate with clients, site-based staff, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications


Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience in health, nursing informatics, or electronic clinical quality measurement.
  • Experience working in a contract research environment.
  • Experience using FHIR, CQL, or QDM.
  • Experience using eCQM tools.
  • Experience developing and testing electronic clinical quality measures.
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows in healthcare settings.
  • Experience working with electronic health records.
  • Ability to consult with clinicians and researchers.
  • Knowledge of Consensus Based Entity (CBE) requirements.

AIR's Total Rewards Program is designed to reward our staff competitively. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $90,000 - $115,000.
