OVERVIEW
We are partnering with a client headquartered near Seattle to find a skilled Network Implementation Engineer (Build Engineer) for a contract position. This role requires a highly detail-oriented individual with strong leadership qualities who can effectively communicate (written and verbal) and collaborate with other engineers and teams for deployments. The ideal candidate will have experience handling both Tier 1 and Tier 2 and be capable of managing complex network implementations. This is a hands-on position that requires being onsite at least 4 days a week.

- Hourly Rate: $45 - $60/hour DOE
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement complex enterprise networks, including the configuration of routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and remote access concentrators.
- Develop comprehensive network design artifacts, including network diagrams, test plans, and low-level configurations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of network equipment, including installation, OS patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Lead network deployment projects, creating detailed work breakdown structures and instruction packages to ensure successful project delivery.
- Install and activate network data circuits at remote sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing complex LAN/MAN/WAN/Campus networks supporting over 5,000 users, including the deployment and support of campus, airport, and data center networks.
- Deep understanding and practical experience with core networking protocols, including STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) and BGP (Border Gateway Protocol).
- Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot enterprise-class routing and switching equipment from leading vendors such as Cisco (IOS), Juniper (Junos OS), and others.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, specifically FortiNet. Ability to design and implement security policies and best practices to protect network infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 switching technologies, including VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, and Cisco switching best practices.
- Familiarity with Internet Service Provider technologies and terminology, data circuit delivery processes, and common data service protocols.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- One or more of these certifications are highly preferred: CCNP, CCNA, NSE 4, JNCIS-ENT, CompTIA Network+
