Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a proficient Automation Security Engineer to provide advanced expertise in securing automated systems for a federal client's critical operations. As an integral member of our team, the Automation Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity and resilience of automated processes and technologies.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain the organization's security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), data loss prevention (DLP), and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
2. Conduct and automate security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
3. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
4. Develop and track Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address identified security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
5. Support DevSecOps initiatives by developing and implementing test–driven security within a CI/CD pipeline.
6. Work and support Authorization to Operate (ATOs, cATOs).
7. Conduct research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to stay updated on the evolving security landscape.
8. Participate in incident response activities, including forensic analysis, evidence gathering, and reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Required Skills:
2. Per contract requirements, candidates must possess an active Secret clearance.
3. Due to contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship.
4. This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on–call schedule.
5. Telework: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance and be available to work onsite at the customer's discretion. This includes being on–site during the transition period. Must be based around Annapolis Junction, MD.
6. 7+ years of experience as a Security Automation Engineer/Tester or related field.

Desired Skills:

1. Experience in some or all the following: Chef Automate, Appscan, IBM Nexus, Splunk, Vault (Vault Enterprise, Venafi), Selenium.

Pay Transparency: Annual Base Pay Minimum for this Position $90,000.00; Annual Base Pay Maximum for this Position $140,000.00.
