Job Description Summary
This role will help drive the technical evolution of Test System infrastructure to a next generation engine control test system, facilitating critical growth in capabilities. This individual will be a part of a core team driving the development, verification, and validation of the test system and assure its effective integration with companion systems that measure or monitor, track, record and react to changes in the environment under test.
They will also drive new techniques to address ongoing code maintenance, functional increments and refactoring to enable new functionality, provide improvements in bandwidth and reliability, or lower operational costs.
The ideal candidate will bring a rich knowledge of software development practices and deep technical skills into the core team and help clarify direction and accelerate the test system through collaborative engagement and technical thought leadership.

Job Description
E sse n tial Res pon s i b i l i ties:
- Collaboratively design and i m p l e me n t a real-time mission-critical engine test system in support of internal engine develop projects as well as final product testing.
- Engage and drive functional verification of the test system and its interaction with the UUT and companion systems.
- Maintain clear prioritization of development activities with regard to sa fety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Establish or refine development & release processes for effective changes and other needs.
- Assure the test system meets reliability and performance requirements.
- Lead problem solving, adaption and management of change as we expand functionality and scope for new environments and airborne platform variants.
- Engage with technology suppliers, service partners and contracted resources to facilitate development & support.
- Coordinate with peer developers, engine design teams and test support staff to enable robust system design and effective use.
- Drive and maintain a high level of professionalism within the organization.
Q u a li f i c atio n s/ R e qu i r e m e n ts
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Strong experience (10+ y e ars) in software development and real-time embedded systems design ex p e ri e n ce, including device drivers or system interface design.
- Deep OOD and C++ experience, preferably with large multi-computer systems.
- Practical experience with mission or safety sensitive environments, such as industrial controls or other environments where operational faults have significant consequences.
- Knowledge of SCADE/ model-based design and development environments.
- Working knowledge of best practices for the software development life cycle, such as captured by CMMI.
- Experience with verification and regression tests and procedures, such that fixes are timely and resilient.
- Familiarity with distributed data environments and software/IP stacks necessary for system communication as well as experience with data-centric models, such as DDS.

- Proven trouble shooting skills, including the ability to resolve complex problems within interacting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work in, collaborate with, and lead an organizationally diverse team under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance

- Graduate or terminal degree in a STEM field.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations related to the target environment, such as Precision Time Protocol and Safety Integrity Levels.
