Job Description:
- Generally, as an our client Data Center Technician in this role, candidates need to be skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Candidates should be able to execute small projects on your own, and work with their manager in planning and executing larger projects.
- Candidates should know how to innovate and make decisions on their own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
- More specifically, this role will help deploy new data center alarming functionality by gathering alarming parameters from data center design documents, primarily electrical schematics.
- Data Center electrical alarms depend on parameters like the amperage and voltage at alarm location, what equipment is associated with the point to be alarmed upon, and other factors.
- In this role you will use electrical schematics to determine these parameters and will encode them into a structured format that can be read by our software to generate alarm configurations.
- You will the resulting alarm performance to correct any errors and deliver production alarms to data center operators.
- Candidates should have experience reading engineering documentation and schematics, and the ability to translate non-structured data from such schematics into structured, standardized data.
- Candidates should have experience in Excel, and be comfortable using Excel to manage large data sets.
- Candidates should be effective verbal and written communicators, with experience reporting their progress and blockers simply and clearly.
- These contingent workers will be following a runbook developed by DCS to enable new Cloud SCADA alarming in the data centers.
- Experience in reading documentation, blue prints, Design Documents, analyst skills
- Familiarity with Data Center electrical diagrams.
