Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our Baton Rouge Office Team.

Position Type: Full-time

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary

Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required.

Essential Functions:

1. Work within a multi-disciplinary design team in a consulting office environment and virtually with other engineering peers and clients.
2. Provide process engineering support across projects regarding equipment design basis and deliverables production.
3. Connect with other Keystone offices across the Gulf Coast as a shared resource.
4. Perform process modeling using simulation tools for applications in chemical plants, refineries, and pipeline engineering.
5. Act in a lead role supporting process design function by active participation as a knowledgeable resource within cross-functional teams and mentoring less experienced process engineering staff.
6. Participate in client interactions, fostering strong relationships and cultivating industry connections to support the fulfillment of the team's requirements.
7. Provide review of equipment specifications and yield analytical results to confirm the sizing basis for process equipment including compressors, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, and reactors.
8. Perform hydraulic modeling to analyze flow characteristics in process scenarios.
9. Perform validations of pressure relief systems including PSV's, flares, and vents.
10. Provide process engineering input during front-end loading and detailed design package development.
11. Prepare and review documents including PFDs, P&IDs, scope of work, and equipment specifications to support capital projects.
12. Review equipment design and piping systems for compliance with relevant industry design codes and client standards.
13. Represent process engineering activities in PHA's & HAZOP.
14. Lead by example to develop credible and practical solutions using sound engineering practices.
15. Present findings in meetings and demonstrate a high level of integrity in work approach.

Requirements:

1. B.S. in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
2. 15+ years of process design experience from consulting office and/or plant assignments.
3. Hands-on experience with process modeling software.
4. Leadership traits and ability to mentor others.
5. Ability to make field trips as necessary.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
8. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Experience Preferred:

1. Experience with Refineries and Chemical Plants.
2. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
