Junior Electrical Controls Engineer

1. Select components and layout electrical control panels under supervision of senior engineer.
2. Program sensors and pneumatic control components.
3. Understand and learn the NEC /UL508A for control system design.
4. Write and debug PLCs, HMIs and motion control programs at initial stages machine powerup.
5. Create electrical schematics, bill of material based on, but not limited to, the instructions given.
6. Follow rules and supervisor guidance regarding budgeting time.
7. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
8. Assist in the development of standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed within the department.
9. Read and interpret customer specifications with the help of senior engineer.
10. Modify and create machine electrical schematics.
11. Work closely and collaborate with Mechanical Engineering members.
12. Work closely under management directions but not limited to achieve own decisions in making process more efficient, within budget and on time.
13. Communicate over phone with customers to assist in troubleshooting installed systems.
14. Travel to customer sites for system installation, modifications, and all aftermarket electrical controls needs (up to 30%).
15. Train and work closely with senior level Electrical Controls Engineers.

1. Experience in Allen-Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, AutoCAD.
2. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
3. Literate using AutoCAD for all electrical design purposes.
4. Understanding of—or ability to learn—industrial writing concepts.
5. Knowledge of electrical schematic software (AutoCad or other CAD platforms).
6. Interest in PLC and HMI programming, multi-axes coordinated motion control.
7. Interest in hands-on machine work with sensor and actuator adjustments.
8. Good organizational and communication skills.
