We’re partnering with a local multi-billion USD manufacturing/tech leader that is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for their cutting-edge R&D team (TRL 0-4).
As a Senior Design Engineer you would be joining the technology team, working at the forefront of new technology, helping to drive innovation in automation, AI, and autonomous vehicles. This is a product design role located in Redmond/Bothell, WA for heavy off-road mobile equipment and will be tasked with developing and applying reliable engineering methods, theories and research techniques.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000
Main Duties/Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:
- Designing advanced solutions involving sensors, automation, and remote operation. Additionally, applying machine learning to process sensor/IoT data and control systems.
- Coordinating electrical and mechanical systems, integrating onboard/remote sensors, and ensuring communication between machines and networks.
- Collaborating with software engineers to develop embedded control and data processing software.
- Designing and testing electrical control systems, including harnesses, sensors, and mechatronics programming.
- Innovating new designs and improving existing ones using the latest technologies.
- Ensuring compliance with global/regional standards and documenting designs using SolidWorks.
- Testing and verifying designs via prototyping, analysis, and collaboration with suppliers/manufacturers.
Requirements of the Senior Design Engineer:
- ABET or equivalent accredited B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field with 5+ years’ relevant experience (or combined experience plus relevant M.S. in engineering)
- Experience with connected systems, machine learning, and/or remote/automated operations
