Software Engineer

Description

WOS is seeking a software engineer to develop software for down-hole logging tools and surface equipment. This engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software and user interface (GUI).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.

Experience

4 - 10 years’ experience with software development; experience with oil & gas service company is a plus.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain software applications for down-hole products and surface equipment.
2. Design software architectural framework and flow charts, implement functions, simulate codes with test bench and user applications.
3. Perform direct testing activities in the lab to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
4. Troubleshoot software design and code bottlenecks, performing code reviews quickly and efficiently.
5. Work with customers and design teams for system integration tests.
6. Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to tune models and optimize software performance and reduce cost of computation.
7. Document test procedures and test reports consistent with engineering policies and procedure.
8. Generate and maintain procedures and user manuals.

Key Skills

1. Exceptional problem-solving skills and independent root cause analysis abilities of software issues.
2. Independent abilities to optimize the software design based on test results.
3. Strong understanding of fundamental math models and math algorithms.
4. Excellent troubleshooting skills for prototype test and integration test.
5. Proficient in C/C++/C#/Python programming.
6. Proficient in user interface (GUI) design.
7. Experience with COM port communication is a plus.
8. Experience with USB communication is a plus.
