QA engineer

Job Title: QA Engineer

Location: Atlanta (Preferred Hybrid)/Remote

As a QA engineer for the Atlanta office, you will be working directly with UX, BA and full stack engineers to deliver coded automated tests for browser and server applications in a CI/CD environment, following Kanban methodologies.

Responsibilities

1. Work with development team to identify and capture test cases
2. Write test plans and test cases for assigned features
3. Test case development based on functional and technical requirements
4. Set up and monitoring of automation test suites as part of CI/CD pipeline
5. Working directly with the wider teams to maintain and enhance our test automation frameworks
6. Maintaining bug backlogs - triaging and prioritizing with stakeholders
7. Advocate for QA and defining/maintaining quality standards within your team
8. Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes
9. Work across different application and integrated automations scripts to create E2E flows
10. Enable automation execution for all new builds and hotfixes through continuous testing process

What We're Looking For...

General Experience

1. A minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in software development
2. Professional experience in agile/lean methodologies and processes - ideally Kanban or scrum as a minimum
3. Good communication skills both written and oral
4. Experience with systems analysis and design, and working with senior engineers and architects
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Experience working in larger project and team environments with product, application support and operations teams
7. A software enthusiast with a passion for the technologies you are working with
8. Quality and results focused with experience in project delivery - individually or as part of a team and ideally in a CI/CD environment
9. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline

Technical Skills / Experience

1. Strong experience in testing fundamentals - test case generation, smoke testing, regression etc.
2. Hands-on development experience in JAVA, Python (preferred), C# etc.
3. Development experience with UNIX/Linux environment
4. Good hands-on development experience on PLSQL, oracle, Postgres or any other database
5. 3+ years of experience in coded test automation using Python or Robot Framework
6. Experience using Selenium Web Driver 2/3 and Visual Studio/PyCharm to write coded automation tests
7. Understanding of API and Web UI / Browser based testing on modern UI frameworks
8. Cross browser testing experience
9. Experience with test case management tools such as Test Rail
10. Thorough understanding and experience of testing RESTful API & Microservice architectures through code-based testing
11. Experience in Object Oriented/SOLID Design principles and practices
12. Proficiency in SQL for data set up and verification
13. Ability to read and understand production code as part of test case development
14. Exposure to defect/requirements management tools e.g. JIRA
15. Managing code with source control applications e.g GIT

Even Better If You Have

1. Experience testing Microservices or Service Oriented Architectures
2. Advocate of clean code practices and processes
3. Demonstrated performance testing experience (JUnit, Loadrunner or other tools)

Knowledge of Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Design
