Responsibilities

We are looking for a Director, Engineering Operations to join our fast growing engineering organization and be responsible for establishing and running the rhythm of the business to enable the strategy and execution of our product roadmap, software delivery and cloud operations. In this critical position, you will drive and manage key cross-functional priorities, ensure we are thinking customer-first in our design and communication of processes, and own change management for our biggest initiatives - all pivotal for the success of the R&D organization. Reporting to the VP of Engineering Strategy, Planning & Analytics, you'll be responsible for:

  • Design, implement key engineering processes including implementing changes to supporting tools, creating implementation plan and automating activities
  • Program manage key cross-functional priorities spanning across Engineering, Product, and/or Global Customer Success
  • Own our Customer Commitments program to ensure SLAs are followed, progress is tracked, and updates are proactively communicated and managed to internal and external stakeholders
  • Operationalize key transformational initiatives for the R&D organization, including rollout plans and end-to-end change management
  • Define and run key interlocks that establish a clear rhythm of the business aligned to our objectives and ensure successful achievement of our OKRs
  • Develop a consistent process for how we deliver customer communications for releases, escalations, and executive updates

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of experience: Proven track record in leading teams in business operations, process, strategy & planning within more technical domains
  • Proficient in six sigma methodologies, and process improvement tools
  • Ability to interpret data and use that information to make decisions
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as process mapping, data analysis, and project management software
  • Proven track record in driving change management programs bringing others along a journey of change

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in (but not limited to) engineering, R&D, environments
  • 3+ years managing teams focused on process improvement
  • Proficiency with different engineering and enterprise software (e.g., Jira, SFDC, Confluence)
  • Proven ability to translate analyses into business actions and quantified impact

This role is preferred to sit in either our San Jose, CA or Bellevue, WA office but the team is also open to remote options.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$168,000 — $240,000 USD
