We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for a full-time position in the St. Louis area. This role is primarily office-based, but you will also travel to customer sites for installations, with travel expected to be around 5-10% of the time.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Analyze mechanical designs and review customer requirements and specifications to identify optimal control system solutions.
• Interface directly with Mechanical Engineers, Tooling Designers, and Project Managers to ensure timely and budget-conscious machine delivery.
• Support procurement efforts and provide status updates and options as necessary to maintain budget and delivery schedules.
• Assist manufacturing by assessing progress, offering technical support, conducting final inspections, and providing sign-offs.
• Perform on-site start-up of control systems as needed.
• Review project hardware and software to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, and ensure full implementation of personnel and machinery safety practices.

Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of experience in industrial control systems, specializing in variable speed drives, servo drive systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation.
• Extensive background with over 7 years in electrical design and safety system design, encompassing schematics and panel layouts. Proficient in applying and programming VFD drives, servo drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Over 5 years of experience in fluid power design, including pneumatic and hydraulic schematic systems. Skilled in applying and programming drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in applying control system applications across project lifecycles.
• Extensive knowledge of Allen-Bradley Powerflex drives, Kinetix drives, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, GuardLogix Controllers, Sensors, Analog sensors, and PLC platforms.
