Tasks and Qualifications:
This is What you Will do in This Role:
- Innovate & Build: Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware that powers sophisticated automation systems used in industrial material flow and management.
- Problem-Solve Independently: Tackle complex firmware challenges, bringing your creativity and technical expertise to the table.
- Full Project Ownership: Take charge of embedded firmware design from start to finish, including coding, testing, and release for innovative products.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Partner with our Technical Publications team to build detailed, user-friendly firmware documentation.
- Drive Proposals: Chip in to technical proposals, helping shape future projects.
- Customer Support & Training: Travel to client sites to address firmware issues, provide upgrades, and lead training sessions to ensure customer success.
- Uphold Excellence: Ensure alignment to the highest software quality standards, including compliance with ISO 9000 and other quality control systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of embedded firmware, with hands-on experience in C, C++, Visual C, MS Windows (10), and Visual Basic.
- Software Design Knowledge: Proficiency in object-oriented design and familiarity with commercial operating systems like Windows 10 and Unix.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions, lead technical proposals, and solve problems collaboratively.
- Firmware Quality Assurance: Knowledge of firmware quality assurance protocols and experience with automated software configuration control systems.
- Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): Experience with FPGA design, Knowledge of AB/Siemens PLCs, Familiarity with fieldbus systems like CAN, Profibus, Ethernet IP, Profinet, ASi, Experience in motor control and/or material handling systems, Knowledge of storage and retrieval systems
