Civil Engineer

MPS is looking for a Civil Engineer with a Project Management background to help manage work in the DOT market. This person will be responsible for DOT construction projects from beginning to end, including manpower, budgets, maintaining policies, project documentation, keeping the site safe and maintaining a set schedule. The role will also be responsible for the estimating, insuring that all employees and subcontractors are following safety rules.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sales, project forecasting, project plans, ordering material, customer satisfaction, monthly financial reports, and billing.
• Manage and track accounts receivables.
• Forecast and develop appropriate programs and strategies.
• Achieve the minimum budgeted net profit for the project.
• Coordinate day-to-day department activity.
• Make final decisions on manpower assignments.
• Selling of new customers for assigned projects.

• Four year construction or engineering related degree or equivalent experience or Journeyman background required.
• 3 years DOT experience.
• Positive safety attitude and personal integrity- both are non-negotiable.
• Ability to think conceptually and apply practical solutions.
• Capabilities to self-start, display solid work ethic, and aspire to move ahead.
• Talent to act decisively through positive communication with others.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
