Compensation Overview:

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.

Salary Range: $151,300.00 - $249,600.00

As a member of Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A), you’ll be joining a strategic and collaborative team that is passionate about transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving the way for best-in-class technology, data, and analytics.

As Lead Software Engineer for the Enterprise Artificial Intelligence and Automation team, within the ED&A organization, you will have the opportunity to be an impactful member of a team leading change from day one. You will guide an organization of technologists spread across nearly 20 teams, helping to drive best practices and technology standards across a team building highly visible and impactful strategic technology products.

What Will You Do?

1. Set technical direction and effectively influence across multiple teams to improve the overall quality of engineering practices and skill sets.
2. Align work with business and engineering priorities to realize meaningful impact.
3. Build, maintain, and utilize partnerships ensuring the best use of overall resources.
4. Provide technical leadership, foster a team environment, and provide mentorship and feedback to technical resources.
5. Ensure team's work complies with Travelers standards, processes, and protocols.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

1. Seven years of programming/development experience plus two years prior technical leadership experience preferred.
2. Experience working with Kubernetes and AWS services is preferred.
3. Strong problem solver who creates robust architecture against single points of failure.
4. Strong communicator who can describe technology concepts in ways the business can understand.
5. Advanced leadership skills including the ability to leverage internal networks across engineering.

What is a Must Have?

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience.
2. Five years of programming/development experience.
3. One year of experience in technical leadership.
