Job Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Compensation: Up to $75/hour

Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract position in Goleta, CA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement, and support high-reliability aerospace assembly projects. As a key team member, you will be responsible for optimizing processes to ensure product quality and on-time delivery, as well as collaborating closely with design engineers on the creation and refinement of ground support equipment (GSE).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized manufacturing processes to meet quality and delivery targets.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase first pass yield.
• Solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions.
• Plan and manage resource utilization effectively.
• Draft technical documentation in collaboration with design engineers.
• Maintain detailed documentation for complex, high-reliability assemblies.
• Create and maintain internal process documentation, including training materials and reports on non-conformances.
• Represent the manufacturing team in design reviews, readiness reviews, and other critical project meetings.
• Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates.
• Review and approve drawings for flight and ground support equipment (GSE).
• Develop action plans, work instructions, test procedures, and other essential production documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within aerospace.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with solar and antenna arrays in aerospace applications.
• Proficient in Visio, Excel, and MS Project.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork, fostering collaboration with assemblers, technicians, and engineers.
