About the Team
Our team works with each development team to identify ways to improve TikTok product performance and help set direction and priorities.

What You'll Do:

  1. Participate in the entire development process of TikTok core products such as long videos, short videos, live broadcasts, playback, streaming media, search, and explore the optimization space of business and technology in terms of performance/experience through evaluation, etc., to help the business continue to improve technical quality;
  2. Establish systematic performance evaluation, audio and video quality evaluation methods, be familiar with comparison methods such as non-invasive/full reference, carry out quantitative work around basic factors such as CPU/GPU/power consumption/performance/cost, and provide root cause analysis judgment to help business optimize and progress in the right way;
  3. According to business and special requirements, design and develop the corresponding experience market and platform to improve overall efficiency and further gain insight into the optimization direction through online data and continuously improve long-tail data, and drive product optimization based on the combination of online and offline data;
  4. Participate in horizontal/cross-team collaboration and drive team progress through innovative technologies and new directions.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
  2. 4+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development or testing in software engineering, related industries with a deep understanding of system architecture, performance, database etc.
  3. Experience with scripting/programming languages, preferably Python, Golang.

  1. Strong communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional and international partners.
  2. Equipped with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong self-driving force and quick learning ability.
  4. Strong concurrent task processing ability and efficient work output.

Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $122400 - $201600 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
