Who We Need
Sabel Systems is seeking a Software Developer to implement custom Jira/Confluence solutions for a large Space Force engagement located at LA SFB in El Segundo, CA. This in-person, local area position requires an experienced Software Developer that will be working directly with customers and a high-end Digital Engineering Solutions technical team. The Software Developer will help the team configure Jira, Confluence, and potentially Jira Service Management to provide customized, unique solutions for our Space Systems Command customer. This position will be responsible for building custom automated Jira workflows and custom Confluence dashboards to capture and display data. You will work with the customer to elicit requirements and workflows and turn those into automated and semi-automated processes in Jira or Confluence.
This Software Developer must have an expert understanding of Atlassian products including Jira and Confluence. Knowledge of Jira Service Management and Assets is an added bonus. In this position you will work closely with highly technical operations and will decipher customer requirements based on their inputs. You will use query languages such as JQL and SQL and perform stack-agnostic web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build custom workflows and dashboards. Experience building Atlassian plug-ins/applications is a huge plus. The ability to work with Python, Java, Groovy, Apache Velocity, and/or jQuery will be helpful.
The Atlassian Developer will require excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, work through varying opinions on the way to create complex workflows and dashboards and support iterative evolution of products.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with customer to understand their data collection, process flows, and reporting requirements
- Expertly operate Jira and Confluence
- Configure Jira and Confluence to provide specific outcomes as desired by the customer
- Build systems engineering automated process workflows in Jira
- Write performant queries in JQL and SQL to meet customer data requirements
- Extend Confluence functionality by writing user macros with custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery and/or Apache Velocity
- Extend Jira functionality by specifying post functions and writing Groovy scripts
- Rapidly iterate on proposed solutions, integrating customer feedback and demonstrating progress regularly
- Track projects in Jira and upload and maintain documentation in Confluence
- Build dashboards and performance metrics for customer leadership based on Jira data
- Other duties as assigned, which may include but are not limited to:
- Researching a subject independent of a SME
- Creating training materials i.e. videos, ppt, PDF.
- User test instructions provided by team or customer.
- Delivering training to coworkers and/or clients on custom product builds.

Your Qualifications
Required
- US Citizen
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- Jira and Confluence Expert
- Strong experience customizing Jira and Confluence to provide specific outcomes, processes, metrics/visualizations, and dashboards
- JQL and SQL expert
- MS Office User
- Ability to obtain minimum of secret level security clearance, will upgrade to TS.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 3 - 5 years' experience
- DoD knowledge / experience
- Certified Atlassian Developer
- Experience developing Atlassian plugins
- Jira Service Management Expert
- Working knowledge or better of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Python, and/or Groovy
- Working knowledge or better of querying web APIs
- High-level understanding of technology (networking, software installation)
- Experience with git and code versioning best practices
- Experience with agile practices
- Experience with configuration management
- Proven adaptability in high-stress situations
