Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in industrial manufacturing. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of design experience, with a proven ability to drive projects from concept to completion. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure that designs meet both customer specifications and production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for industrial manufacturing applications.
  • Perform detailed analysis, including stress, thermal, and tolerance studies, to ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.
  • Create and modify CAD models and detailed drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other industry-standard tools.
  • Lead the development of new product concepts and improvements to existing products, ensuring designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and ease of maintenance.
  • Conduct research on materials, processes, and technologies to integrate into designs for improved performance and cost efficiency.
  • Support prototyping and testing efforts, including reviewing test data and refining designs based on results.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to specify materials and components and to resolve any design-related issues that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality policies.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing clear communication on design rationale and project updates to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, fabrication), and industrial standards.
  • Experience conducting analysis and simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think creatively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and other industry-specific quality management systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in product development for heavy industrial equipment or machinery.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
