Job Summary: Selux is looking for a motivated, creative, and skilled Software Engineer to lead its fast-paced Instrument SW Engineering team to play a key role developing our Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) System. You will work closely with software teammates to develop robotic instrument software focused on microbiology workflows. You will interface with multidisciplinary teams to launch our products and expand their core capabilities. This role will start out with an expectation of daily work onsite to interact with instrumentation for research & development. There is an opportunity for flexibility and hybrid work in this role in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume technical and Agile scrum team lead role in the Instrument SW Engineering team.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary leaders to enhance the Selux suite of instruments.
  • Mentor team on SW development to meet delivery goals & objectives.
  • Write, review, & maintain functional specifications owned by the team.
  • Develop & troubleshoot robotic instrument software using C#.
  • Actively participate in code review process as author and engaged reviewer.
  • Oversee team tasks and contribute in scrums and sprint planning as part of an Agile process.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.
  • 7+/5+ years of industry experience developing production level software.
  • Experience developing C# code for complex systems using standard patterns.
  • 2+ years of Agile team experience and ability to lead a scrum team.
  • Application life cycle management (ALM) tools exp for (Jira, Helix) for requirements, issues, and testing
  • A commitment to building testable solutions via the development of unit tests.
  • Development and documentation in regulated (FDA or other) environment (IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820)
  • Ability to review & evaluate real time programming (firmware) code
  • Ability to establish & enforce code quality and complexity metrics
  • Experience with threading concepts and safe threading patterns
  • Experience with liquid handling systems (Tecan, Hamilton, Festo, etc.)
  • Development and documentation in regulated (FDA or other) environment (IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820)
