As the Product & Service Development Engineer I - Navigation, you will execute US-specific validation of Navigation features across multiple BMW Group head unit projects. You identify, communicate, and prioritize top issues to project management and functional owners in BMW AG.
In this role, you synchronize and agree on resolution implementation according to project milestones to ensure product quality. You conduct market and customer research, competitor benchmarking, and BMW Group product evaluations. You perform validation activities for assigned areas including local, weekend, and overnight test drive events with engineering colleagues and process partners. You participate in multi-day overnight (long and short distance) and weekend test drive activities with multiple test vehicles and engineers from the Woodcliff Lake, Spartanburg, Oxnard, and Munich locations. You report project status and test results to BMW engineering departments using the standard BMW reporting tools (e.g. Brian, ALM). You collaborate with global teams to work on the development and implementation of vehicle feature, specifically related to navigation system. You identify and report key challenges and milestones during the development cycle.
In support of BMW of North America business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office with remote work capability (hybrid), three days per week in office, but flexible up to five days per week in office depending on project needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Valid US driver's license.
- Available for overnight business travel.
- 1-2 years in engineering field.
- Experience working in BMW development.
- BMW B1, B2, and E1 license.
- Ability to code with Android development platform and deploy production-ready code.
- Self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
- Able to work under pressure and with compressed timelines.
- Able to adapt and willing to continually learn new technologies and concepts.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Highly analytical.
- Basic knowledge of automotive technologies with focus on BMW highly preferred.

The pay range for this role is: $74,831.00 - $87,642.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
