Position Title: CNC Machinist
Wage: $25-$35/hour
Shift: 12-hour A/B, C/D
Hours: 12-hour A/B team (6am-6pm) and C/D (6pm-6am)
QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Machinist for a company in Hartford, WI. This is a direct hire role.
CNC Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, materials, speed and feeds required to complete the machining of assigned component parts
- Machine parts to the required specifications up to +or- .00005 tolerances using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, 5 axis machines
- Work independently by utilizing drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations required
- Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure the accuracy of machined components
- Knowledge of cutting tools used for metal removal such as drills, reamers, taps, end mills and face mills
- Communicate with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- High school diploma or HSED/GED Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a general machinist or preferably a toolmaker or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good computer skills and able to learn new skills as needed
- Familiar with blueprints and GD&T concepts
- Must understand G and M codes and have knowledge of FANUC, HEIDENHAIN and/or SEIMENS controls
- Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solve problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence
- Able to write standard reports and documentation
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Calculate dimensions and close tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices
- Broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices
- Knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies
- Frequently sit, use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally stand and/or walk
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
