Job Description:
Our company is seeking a Junior Python Developer to shadow senior resources and write Python code which is efficient and modular server side code. You will need the skills to write a plethora of unit tests for your code to ensure all functionality is being achieved.
In this role, you will work closely with senior developers and architects to design and develop/enhance new/existing applications using Python. You will leverage common libraries, follow coding standards, and apply industry best practices to deliver high-quality solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for optimizing code performance, providing estimates and progress updates, conducting testing scenarios, creating user guides, and providing post-deployment support.
You will need good collaboration and communication skills, and will need to be a self-starter to ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Work with other developers.
- Implement Python code with assistance from senior developers.
- Write effective test cases such as unit tests to ensure it is meeting the software design requirements.
- Ensure Python code when executed is efficient and well written.
- Refactor old Python code to ensure it follows modern principles.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand the requirements.
- Ensure integration can take place with front end systems.
- Identify and fix code where bugs have been identified.
Requirements:
Must-Have:
- 1-3 years of development experience using Python.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with SQL queries for database interactions.
- Familiarity with version control repositories such as Team Foundation or Git.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Well-documented and organized approach to development.
- College/Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent related project experience.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with DevOps practices.
