About this role:
Cisco Isovalent is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our teams working on Cilium. This critical role involves spearheading the integration of Cisco Isovalent's solutions with various platforms and technologies, enabling seamless deployment and operation for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in software engineering, coupled with exceptional leadership skills, strong experience both deploying software on cloud platforms, directly and via their marketplaces as well as building products for the Kubernetes ecosystem.
What you’ll do:
- Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders.
- Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers, with input from technical leader and senior leadership.
- Structure and track progress on projects and ensure accountability for them.
- Preserve the engineering culture as we scale out the team.
- Being a role model of company culture and values.
- Manage and coordinate US and EMEA teams, ensuring alignment during East Coast business hours (EST/EDT).
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Experience in management or leadership roles.
- Experience in cloud native technologies, Linux and networking.
- Experienced developing using Go or similar languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience of interacting and working with customers.
- Experience managing independent, strong, and diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of customer value.
