About the Role

As the Senior Engineer , you will perform a variety of challenging work associated with application engineering as part of the Thermal Solutions Integration Team. This role will have a heavy emphasis on process heater applications. You will be expected to engage with a variety of customers in a variety of industries. You will engage with customers daily to better understand their thermal problems, specify appropriate Watlow solutions, and provide quotation. This is a systems level role, with the expectation being that you help customers apply Watlow's sensing, heating, controlling, and power switching technologies to achieve their desired thermal outcome. Preferred candidate will have experience with process heater application and use. Location can be St. Louis or Hannibal, MO depending upon candidate preference.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Engage directly with Watlow's customers and sales engineers in a variety of market spaces and industries to solve challenging thermal problems.
• Utilize internal engineering calculation tools to guide customers to best solution.
• Apply standard and modified standard products to satisfy customer needs.
• Prototype modified standard products quickly.
• Engage with new product development teams as needed.
• Champion opportunities and work with peers in other functional areas to help grow the business.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with preferred 5-8 years of related engineering experience.

• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using creative and systemic problem-solving tools and techniques.
• Excellent engineering and communication skills to work with a broad range of applications, customers, suppliers and team members.
• Flexibility to handle multiple projects of varying size, scope and complexity.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time to other Watlow and customer sites.
• Desire to actively develop other team members through coaching and feedback.
