BSEt, a subsidiary of Tanadgusix Corporation (TDX), an Alaska Native Corporation, is currently recruiting for the position of Systems Engineer. This position is located in San Diego, CA, and is a full time, on-site position. This position will report directly to the government Project Lead for daily operations.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer shall manage taskings and report directly to the government Project Lead for daily operations. The contractor shall perform tracking of all efforts through Atlassian JIRA and provide regular reports to both the Navy Cyber Program SCRUM Master and government leadership. The contractor shall provide Splunk and DevSecOps support for Navy Cyber development, test, production infrastructure. This support includes: Splunk configuration and optimization, infrastructure design, configuration management, security, virtualization, monitoring and maintenance, continuous integration / delivery management, and systems maintenance. The contractor will assist with architecting, designing, and managing staging, test and development, and test and production infrastructure. Responsibilities include but are not limited to generally accepted DevSecOps tasks such as operational systems monitoring, software integration/installation/upgrade, managing maintenance/downtime operations, systems troubleshooting, deployed and staged application troubleshooting, maintaining continuous integration/delivery pipeline, and computer/network/application security for all environments in use within Navy Cyber Program. The contractor shall support a variety of different technologies and platforms, including: Linux, Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows, and Splunk Enterprise, Layer 2/3 network devices, ACAS, HBSS, and various open source components. The contractor shall provide technical input as requested to the Navy Cyber Program, A&A and the Navy Cyber Operations efforts. This includes preparing input into CONOPS, COOPs, POAMs, ECRs, SDDs and other required documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Data Architecture Working Group
- Lead technical design of program integration efforts
- Work closely with Data Procurement staff to plan acquisition of Data Feeds
- Architect Configuration Management Solutions utilizing Puppet, Ansible, Git
- Architect CI/CD Pipelines utilizing Gitlab, Splunk, Puppet, Ansible
- Architect Distributed Splunk Search Head/Index Cluster
- Architect Operations Continuous Monitoring Solutions utilizing Splunk, Graylog
- Architect patch management solution utilizing Red Hat Satellite
- Design and implement Splunk ITSI and TA configuration management strategy
COMPETENCIES:
- Familiarity with network protocols, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Must be adept at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to the task lead and lab manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- IAT2 certification.
- Minimum of four (4) years of systems-level engineering experience.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance; prefer a Top-Secret clearance.
- This level is intended to coincide with DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM/IASAE Level II and the Contractor must comply with the associated qualification and certification requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
- Microsoft Office, including MS Project and MS Visio.
- Demonstrated experience in Cisco networking, including architecture and CLI programming.
