Job Duties/Responsibilities

About the position: The ECA Solar team is expanding our development efforts on large scale ground mounts and energy storage projects across the US and we are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on, leadership position. You will work alongside our team of project developers, design engineers, civil engineers and engineering consultants to develop, design and permit prospective large scale solar and energy storage projects. This position will report to the Director of Civil Engineering and will serve as our in-house civil entitlement expert. As the resident expert on the team, your role will be to gain approvals on civil entitlements, perform civil site and stormwater design and estimate the cost of the civil scope of work on your projects. This position is a strategic addition to our team as we continue to have fun growing our portfolio of renewable energy assets.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of full-time experience in site development and permitting.
  • Great at managing and engaging with our engineering partners and AHJ’s.
  • Experienced and comfortable with reviewing and critiquing other engineers' work products.
  • Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively with project developers, clients, consulting engineers, design, and technical personnel.
  • Excellent at communicating design concepts and leading meetings between clients, project engineers, permitting authorities, and consultants.
  • Having an open mind and a willingness to be creative to help find solutions to meet or exceed requirements or expectations of our permitting authorities and or customers.
  • Confident in your ability to interpret code, substantiate with the appropriate calculations and respectfully defend your position in a collaborative manner.
  • Possessing a high level of energy, resourceful and organized engineering professional with the ability to manage multiple projects and coach design engineers and project developers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, HYDROCAD, MS Office proficiency is a must.
  • Passionate about renewable energy and motivated to help move us away from fossil fuels.
  • Civil PE License and ability to become licensed in additional states is a plus.
