Our Client in Bridgeton, NJ is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join their team! This is a DIRECT HIRE (not contract to hire) position with an international company operating for over 40 years! This position offers $90,000 - $120,000 based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in Process/Production Engineering with a focus on distillation and associated unit operation processes.


Responsibilities include:

  • Optimize distillation processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and reclaim to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation of distillation equipment.
  • Perform process troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve operational issues, and material balances.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for distillation processes.
  • Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and management of change (MOC) processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review & develop PFD, P&ID.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to distillation processes.
  • Support new product development initiatives by providing expertise on distillation processes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 8 years to 10 years of experience. Master's degree with 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in process/Production engineering with a focus on distillation and associated unit operation processes.
  • Knowledge of process simulation software, lean and six sigma desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
