Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organization success.Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Sets up and machines all tooling required for making horseshoes, following all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance Systems (MPS)Operates a minimum two (2) CNC machines at one timePrepares, cuts, and grinds raw materials used in the horseshoe manufacturing processPerforms setup and running the Wire EDM, and other equipment as neededPrepares documents and reports as needed or requested with ERP softwarePerforms quality control checks on all jobsObtains cross training on all machines, and cross trains other machinistsMakes recommendations on process improvements and changes;Performs other duties as requested by managementEducation, Experience, and Skills RequirementsTraining and/or certification in CNC machines operation3 years CNC experience (including setup experience)5+ years of CNC experience may be considered in lieu of formal CNC trainingWorking knowledge of standard inspection toolsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to train and coach others, contribute as a team memberExcellent problem-solving skills and blueprint interpretationDesirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)CNC (5-Axis) programming experienceMastercam/Solidworks experience strongly preferredPhysical DemandsProlonged periods of standing, walkingAbility to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, crouchAbility for frequent use of hands to feel, handle, touch, or manipulate and use foot/feet to operate machinesSpecific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusFrequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 poundsWork EnvironmentFactory settingExposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particlesExposure to significantly loud noiseExposure to moving mechanical parts on line, as well as, moving equipment throughout the factoryMandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which the company providesAdditional InformationEssential job functions and education, experience, and skills sections are representative of the minimum levels of education, experience, and skills required to perform the vital duties of this position.
