The Customer Tech Infrastructure team at one of our largest Fortune 100 Energy clients is participating in Brooksource’s Elevate Program, where they are actively hiring a Jr. Software Engineer to perform back-end customer technical functions across billing enhancement projects at our client. Our client recently underwent an Oracle CC&B implementation project and have recently entered their Stabilization phase of the project. They are seeking development and customization support to help maintain system performance and server health while tackling enhancement projects from the business.

As the Jr. Software Engineer, you will be given the opportunity to support the Customer Care and Billing program, focusing on projects in Oracle Cloud, DevSecOps, Tech Infrastructure, etc. You will be able to work autonomously and be eager to learn and grow in an agile, cross-functional environment. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or similar field OR equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience working with software development languages (Ex: Python, Perl, C#, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, .NET, HTML, AngularJS, iOS Swift on/or Objective-C, Android Mobile, Xamarin), Java, Python and/or Hibernate are preferred!
- Academic or professional experience with scripting, cloud platforms, and SQL or NoSQL databases - Oracle, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MySQL, Redis, Splunk.
- Strong software development capabilities coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated strong teamwork skills with self-motivation to achieve success in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
- Understanding of advanced programming concepts, data structure and algorithms.
- Possesses excellent analytical, organizational, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Write product specifications and design documentation for customer-facing platform enhancements.
- Product specifications will be primarily centered around bug-tweaks and enhancements to our client’s Oracle CC&B (Customer Care and Billing) platform.
- Design, develop and/or review code to ensure solutions meet the requirements of functional and technical specifications.
- Solutions may include but are not limited to the development of various types of applications, web, mobile app, full stack, or integrations hosted on premises data centers or in the cloud.
- Develop automated unit tests and/or automated UI tests.
- Enhance knowledge of and compliance with preferred technologies, methodologies, standards and policies.
- Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function.
- Assist in the development of white papers, presentations, or knowledge sharing for new and recommended solutions.
- Ideate, design, and develop process and technology improvements such as process or test automations.
- Independently meet with business groups involved in miscellaneous project.
